Historically Lake Valley has always had Men at the helm. We are very proud of this fact, not because we are arrogant or proud of ourselves, but because we believe this is God’s calling for us. We are the most masculine when we are following Jesus, our model man.
Men’s ministry actually starts with 12 year old boys. We take our young boys through a rite of passage experience during the summer between 6th and 7th grade. This passage to manhood is no walk in the park. It involves adventure, challenges, dangerous things because we want men to follow God and over come their fear. After this experience, we treat these boys as men.
We have several opportunities for men at Lake Valley. We have a program in the Fall called “Men’s Fraternity” (inclusive not exclusive) This last for 10 weeks every fall.
We have a weekend experience called “Men of the Ouachitas” This is by invitation only and is designed to move a man through his own story to find the keys to his personal destiny as a man.
We will on occasion take trips to storm impacted regions to clean and repair damaged cities. We have built houses for habitat and built a house on sight at Lake Valley and shipped it to a family with no home. We love action and we find that men work best shoulder to shoulder.
