Can you tell us a little about your family?
We are Phil and Judy Ellis, sometimes called P & J, which we love. This year we were blessed to be able to celebrate 50 years of marriage with a trip to Paris and Switzerland. We have two sons, Daniel and Gabe, a beautiful daughter-in-law, Neysa, and two grandchildren, Ryleigh and Bryce.
What brought you to our Lake Valley family?
We started attending Lake Valley in 2008. As The CALL’s Church Partnership and Finance Coordinator, we are in many different churches on Sundays during the year, but are always eager to come home to our Lake Valley family.
Today you are lighting the candle that represents “LOVE.” What could you share that might encourage our body in their love for Christ and for each other?
As we light the candle that represents “LOVE” we are reminded that Jesus commanded all to love one another just as he loves us. Paul reminds us of this message in First Thessalonians 5:11 saying, “Encourage one another and build one another up.” And so we both encourage you to: Love one another. Forgive each other just as the Lord forgives you. Instill hope. Provide support especially when someone is discouraged. The smallest act of kindness can lighten the load of someone who is experiencing great loss or great trials. More importantly, we can pray for one another.
How can Lake Valley pray for you family?
We ask that you pray for us as we continue our work in helping to find Christian families to provide homes for children in care. We wish you a Merry Christmas with the love of Christ and may it continue throughout the year. – P & J
