Advent Week 4: Peace

Advent Week 4: Peace

Lance & Kali Harris and Mallory Golden

Tell us about your family?

While we are Hot Springs natives, in 2017, we left the comfort of home
and moved to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Lance is in administration with the Ministry of Education, while Kali manages our holiday home here. We have just celebrated our sixth year wedding anniversary, and are incredibly grateful for the many opportunities we have been afforded so far! “Alhamdulillah!” (Praise be to God!) – Lance & Kali

I work full-time at the Garland County Library, and take photos on the side. As I have just started fostering, I am privileged to be the middle mommy for precious children in Garland County (& beyond). The way my family looks will be ever changing. I am so grateful for the love and support from my family, both near and far. – Mallory

How long have you been at Lake Valley?

As daughters of Morgan and Rhonda Golden, we have been at Lake Valley since its conception back in the nineties! Lance, son of Dewayne and Susan Harris, joined the Lake Valley family in 2004. – Kali & Mallory

What about “Peace” might encourage Lake Valley this season?

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 ESV

We’ve lived in the heart of the Middle East for almost three years now, and we always get asked, “I’m guessing there are not many churches in the UAE, right?” Not quite. We hope that the LVCC body is encouraged by the fact that there are six to eight churches operating in Abu Dhabi alone. These churches are filled with Christians from the Philippines, India, Syria, Lebanon, and the list goes on and on. They all leave their nationalities, cultures, and languages at the door to worship Jesus as one body. We were fortunate enough to share this with Mallory last Christmas season on her visit to UAE. – Lance & Kali

How can Lake Valley pray for your family?

We ask that you pray for God to continue to work in us and through us as a light within our Middle Eastern community. Pray that we are able to show Christ’s unconditional love and mercy to our Muslim, Christian, and non-believing neighbors every single day. “Shukran!” (Thank you!) – Lance & Kali

Similar to Kali and Lance, I ask for you to pray that I can be a light and show the extravagant love of Christ to the children placed in my home, and their bio families. I hope that you will join me in showing these sweet children the love they need and deserve. Finally, I ask that you pray for my strength to continue this extremely challenging and rewarding role. – Mallory
