Advent Week One – HOPE: The Quast Family

Advent Week 1, HOPE: The Quast Family

Can you tell us a little about your family?

We are Jeremy and Julie Quast. We have three children, almost eleven year old twins, Allie and Garrison, and our two and half year old, Emma Claire. Jeremy and I have been together since junior high, so we have spent more of our lives together than not. Jeremy is a real estate appraiser and I am an assistant professor for the Teachers College at Henderson State University. As a family, we love to camp, eat dinner around the table, and just enjoy spending time together.

What brought you to the Lake Valley family?

When we visited Lake Valley, we were looking for a place to belong and be a part of the community. We felt at home here and are so thankful for our church family.

What is your biggest “HOPE” for this coming year?

Our biggest HOPE for the new year is to continue to grow our faith in the Lord. We hope that in all things, beautiful life events or the storms, that we cling to Him alone.

How can Lake Valley pray for your family?

The past year has held some pretty scary health events for both Jeremy and Emma Claire. On August 30th, Jeremy’s heart stopped, which resulted in a stroke, kidney failure, and the opportunity to possibly join the kidney and pancreas transplant lists. We are praying for continued healing for him and for great decisions by his medical team. Emma Claire has battled some seizures and a weakened immune system, so we hope the treatment for her continues to show progress. Words are not enough to thank each of you for your prayers and support this past year. We know and trust God’s plan and pray for each of you as we enter this season of Advent and the new year.
