Created With a Purpose
This fall, the Lake Valley Women’s ministry has launched four new groups into study, discussion and fellowship. On Tuesday evenings, three new groups are wrestling with core elements of their identities as women of God as they participate in Foundations, Biblical Femininity, and Embracing Purpose. A fourth group is also studying Foundations on Thursdays at noon. These new groups are in addition to a Wednesday morning Bible study group who are studying the Book of Hosea this fall and two other First Principles groups who are nearing the end of their eighteen month journey. Preparations are also in full swing for the upcoming Women of the Ouachitas (WOO2) Retreat, which will take place at Tucker Lodge, October 26th – 28th. And, three more WOO Retreats are on the calendar for 2019. Exciting things are happening at Lake Valley!
So many of us, as women, feel like we are drowning in the stress of everyday life. It doesn’t matter if we are mothers, wives, singles, career women, stay-at-home moms, empty-nesters, or in some other season of life. We may feel that we don’t measure up to the standards of others, we don’t fit the mold, we’ve messed up. We may feel so stretched that we are unable to live out our responsibilities and passions, or we may be completely unsure how this season should look.
We want every one of you at Lake Valley to embrace the gospel version of yourselves and to share this with other women in your lives and in this community. You were created with a purpose and for a purpose. So, we will continue to remind you and encourage you to take part in the opportunities and experiences that are being offered here at Lake Valley. Each has been chosen and designed to help us as women to understand five key concepts for our own lives…our foundation, identity, story, purpose and influence.
You don’t have to live exhausted, stressed, frustrated, and drained lives. You can embrace who God designed you to be, as an individual, and as a woman. You can thrive. You can have a life that is rich in relationships and happiness. You can live better. Live boldly and passionately. As always, we challenge you to be transformed by the gospel and to make it beautiful and believable to others in your home, in your neighborhood, in Hot Springs, and beyond.
