During the month of February, Lake Valley will host the four week experience we call Discovery. Discovery is for those who are interested in learning more about Lake Valley and possibly becoming members of our family of families. Each week, elders and their wives will lead the group in discovering Lake Valley’s core beliefs.

The framework for our experience together is explored through Lake Valley’s mission which states that our desire is to “discover together how to live and serve like Jesus,” or more simply put, our mission is “Discovering Life.” We believe that Christianity is not about turning over a new leaf, but rather discovering a new “LIFE!”

We believe that real LIFE can be found by:
Losing my life to Jesus (by)

Imitating His ways (in a)

Family of families (who is)

Engaging others beyond us.

Each week for four weeks, we will be highlighting one letter of this acronym by providing Biblical teaching on the concept and describing the Lake Valley distinctives. Week one is an introduction to our story as a family. In week two, the focus is on Jesus and how, as His disciples, we want to imitate His ways. We will also learn about our core values of community, transformation, and generosity. On week three, we will discuss the idea that we are a family of families and small groups are our lifeblood because in these groups we connect with other believers and care for one another. During this session, we will also talk about our structure of leadership, including small group pastors, deacons, elders, learning center and youth. Week four will be a challenge to each participant to engage others beyond us.

The next Discovery class will begin on February 2nd and will meet each Sunday in February after second service. If you are interested in being a part of this group, please go by the Info Booth and sign up.
