“When it seems that our sorrow is too great to be borne, let us think of the great family of the heavy-hearted into which our grief has given us entrance. And inevitably, we will feel about us their arms, their sympathy and their understanding.” – HELEN KELLER
When a loved one dies it forces a re-examination of how we are going to live out the rest of our days without that person. We can make a choice to try and do it alone, or be with people who will understand and encourage us in the midst of the struggles we are facing. Some may think that a grief support group would just be too depressing or too sad. What we’ve discovered instead is true community; a community where unexpected friendships are formed, where we sometimes laugh as much as we cry, and where God is honored in spite of our honesty that death has greatly challenged our faith.
If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, we want to invite you to join us for our next thirteen week cycle of GriefShare beginning Tuesday, February 6th. We will meet at 5:30 pm, in Seminar A, and will watch a video featuring experts on grief, as well as others who tell about their own personal experiences. After the video, we will have a confidential small group sharing time. A $20 fee covers the cost of a workbook which contains daily insights, scriptures, journaling, and thought-provoking questions. For more information and to pre-register, contact me at 501-617-3438, or go online at griefshare.org. Brochures are available at the Info Booth.
