More than ever, Haiti’s people need your prayers. As Covid19 has made its way into this small country, people are afraid of what lies ahead. Many Haitians lack access to clean water and live in tightly packed quarters where self-isolation is physically impossible. More than half the population already lives hand-to-mouth, and staying at home or social distancing in crowded cities is very difficult. The health care system is also very weak, and without the right equipment, some hospitals are refusing to treat patients with the virus. Following is a note from Roger Stanage about the importance of praying for our partners and friends in Haiti during this critical time.
Greetings Lake Valley family,
Just a short update on our friends in Haiti. On March 19th, the first cases of Covid-19 were confirmed. This was probably inevitable, but extremely unfortunate for this poor island nation. Haiti has a very poor health care system and will not be able to take care of people with the virus. I am in almost daily contact (Skype, Whatsapp, email) with our Haitian team and they have, as you can imagine, very high anxiety about this virus. Please pray for our friends in Haiti during this difficult time.
My last trip was in January and I was scheduled to be there this March to continue Wisdom Training, First Principles and Business Mentoring in four cities. Obviously, this trip has been postponed. All I know to do is pray and encourage our team. Please join me in praying for Haiti. Thanks! – ROGER STANAGE
