In August of 2015, Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, called for the Restore Hope Summit as a charge for faith leaders to engage in the care of children in the foster care system and individuals who are reentering society from prison. Lake Valley was invited to speak on a statewide panel because of our efforts in Hot Springs. This led to a greater partnership with the Governor’s staff and we are currently helping spearhead a statewide program to help the local communities in our state develop networks of support. Historically, we have responded to the needs in our state during times of crisis. Our body has served in crises such as the tornados in Dumas, Mena, Clinton, and Atkins. Responding within the first 48 hours, we have rebuilt homes, cleared trees, replaced roofs, and have delivered food, clothing, money and other supplies. This has proven to be a great way to share the love of Christ with others and to allow our member to grow spiritually in the process.
We are currently meeting and praying with other churches in Arkansas to seek the heart of God and His direction for the establishing of churches in the boot of the US, including Arkansas, Louisiana, and parts of Mississippi. This includes a partnership with Mission Arkansas. Our prayer is that God will provide the plan, people, and funding for Kingdom expansion.
