What We Believe

What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible – both Old and New Testaments – to be inspired by God.

We believe that followers of Jesus must take personal responsibility to become mature and Christ-like.

We believe that there is one God, who created all things, infinitely perfect and always existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that followers of Jesus should orient their lives to their new community, the church.

We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but rebelled and fell into sin.

We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for daily living as much as it is for initial conversion.

We believe Jesus died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins.

We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to never-ending life and joy with the Lord and the unbeliever to eternal death and separation from the Lord.

We believe that followers of Jesus are called to love and serve the world.

We believe that our water Baptism and Lord’s Supper are sacraments that identify the church.

We believe that the church is composed of all persons who, by trusting in Jesus Christ, have been born again by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that followers of Jesus should commit to the peace and unity of the church.

We believe that followers of Jesus must take personal responsibility for the strength and mission of the church.
